Cut-A-Thon Supports Homes for Our Troops

A Zanesville business is supporting our troops in a unique way…

Studio Blu held its first ever Cut-A-Thon to raise money for "Homes for Our Troops". Stylist Bailey Bryan said she enjoys giving back to service men and women through the support of this selfless foundation.

"An organization that helps build houses for wounded soldiers to adapt to their needs. If they’re in a wheelchair, have no limbs, they like to make the houses mortgage free, because they know it will be harder for them to find work," said Bryan.

Bryan said she came up with the idea for the Cut-A-Thon when her brother spent a year in Iraq. Stylist Lindsay Maurer said the event is well-worth the effort, since it’s such a great cause.

"Actually her brother Parker got to build a house in Georgia, so he gave us the idea, and it was nice knowing that he’s done this before so we know it goes toward a good cause and it actually does what it’s supposed to do," said Maurer.

The Cut-A-Thon raised nineteen-hundred dollars in just one hour. For more information, or to find out how you can support the troops, visit
