Most kids wouldn’t be thrilled if their parents showed up at school, but that was not the case on Friday.
T.J. Wells is a Mechanic Specialist in the U.S. Army, and for the past six weeks, he has been away in Colorado, but his wife Jennifer planned a special surprise for his return. T.J. dropped by his daughter Addie’s classroom at Careytown Preschool in Zanesville.
"It felt good," said T.J. "I just missed her a lot, and it’s great to see her again."
T.J.’s time at home will be cut short, because he’s going to Afghanistan. Jennifer said it’s tough when he’s not around, but she embraces the challenge.
"Just listening to her say that she misses her daddy, but we’ve got friends, we’ve got family, so that’s what it’s all about," said Jennifer.
T.J. will be deployed in two weeks, but until then, he plans to bond with his family.
