It’s the start of February, meaning it’s time for the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Zanesville.
This months featured artist is Documentary and Freelance Photographer Michelle Black. Black specializes in child photography and said her inspiration began with her son.
"It made me start focusing on how to be patient when you’re with children and how to soothe and comfort them," said Black. "It took me about three or four years to realize I wanted to specialize, specifically, with kids."
Black has recently begun candid sessions at the home of her clients, where she enjoys capturing the true moments and memories of children- similar to the work she’ll showcase during the First Friday Art Walk.
"I’m going to be show casing most of my personal stuff, so there is going to be a lot of snap shots and travel photography that I have done and just candid things I’ve done with kids, and maybe some out-takes from sessions as opposed to the formal ones I would present to my clients," said Black.
