The Lady Dawgs and the Lady Bears have played in thrillers before. As recently as a few years ago, both teams were either contending for or winning state titles. All fot he players, and almost all of the names have changed, but Tri-Valley and River View giving their fans a game they have come to expect over the years.

A back-and-forth affair saw the Lady bears take a five point halftime lead, but Tri-Valley responded in the third quarter, going on an 8-2 run to start the frame. The key to the run was the play of Rachel King, who had ten points in the quarter. The Lady Dawgs took a three point lead into the fourth quarter.

The final frame showcased the talents of Andi Daugherty of River View and Tri-Valley’s Amariah Huck. Daugherty, whose two older sisters were state players of the year, looked the part tonight with 32 of her team’s 47 points, willing River View to the tie with seven seconds to play. Daugherty would have been the hero, except for the heroics of Amariah Huck, who scored ten points int he fourth quarter, part of her team high 19. No points were bigger than the two Huck dropped with 1.1 seconds to go in the game, sealing the Tri-Valley victory.
