Muskingum County Engineer Doug Davis went before Muskingum County Commissioners Monday to have them sign blue prints that will be turned over to the Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of Northpointe Drive from Richvale north to Powelson Drive.
Davis hopes for the repaving to begin in mid-May. Along with repaving, berms along that stretch of roadway will also be replaced.
The project will close Northpointe for 30-45 days and traffic will be routed onto State Route 60. Davis said they still need to evaluate 125 feet of roadway south of the slide to make sure that it won’t need repaired.
The repaving project is slated to cost $1(m). The county will pay 20 percent. $200,000 of which will come from a grant. The commissioners will pay $60,000 for both the slide and paving.
