The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is putting on a series of seminars exploring business opportunities related to shale oil and gas.
Downtown Association Manager Dana Matz said a panel of experts will answer questions regarding workforce training, economic development, oil and gas production, landowner issues and industry regulations.
"It’s one of the services that we offer to our chamber members, and we’re very proud to have one of the largest chambers in southeastern Ohio, and this is something that the community needs to be prepared for, because it can have a very large impact on us," said Matz.
Matz said the panel will answer questions from the audience instead of making individual presentations. He said he has already seen firsthand the postive impact that shale drilling has on other communities.
"Recently I had a chance to visit Williamsport and saw the positive effects it’s having on that community," said Matz. "We’re fortunate that it’s working its way toward us."
The seminar will take place on February 24th at 1 p.m. at the John McIntire Library. Admission is free for chamber members and incubator clients. Questions can be submitted in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
