A local organization is honoring black history month and celebrating diversity – by eating food.
The Zanesville Civic League Community Center held the 17th annual "Taste of Color" on Saturday. Executive Director Howard Stewart said the event featured a variety of homemade foods from around the globe.
"It’s nothing that brings people together, as in harmony, race harmony, being black history month, like food, and it’s all wrapped around the food," said Stewart.
Area Girl Scouts helped serve the dishes, and some of the food was provided by Papa Chuck’s and Ditty’s Downtown Deli. Stewart said "Taste of Color" will continue to please crowds for years to come.
"I imagine it will, like i said this is the 17th one, so we look forward to the 18th one," said Stewart.
A church jazz band also performed, and awards were presented to Zanesville City students.
