It was announced this week that Secrest Auditorium will get a face lift to their facility.
$75,000 was awarded to the auditorium from the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission. The whole process took over six months to complete.
"It was a long detailed process and we’re happy to get through it," said Executive Director of Zanesville Community Development Stacy Clapper. "We’re just excited to take the next steps and those next steps include working with our architect, Pat Kelly, to help make it through the design phase and to procure those projects we’re interested in doing."
Those projects include new carpeting, curtains and doors that lead from the auditorium to the lobby.
"The majority of the carpet and curtains have been here for at least 25-30 years," said Manger of Secrest Auditorium Ann Combs. "They have served us well, but it is time for a replacement."
Combs said that they plan to make all upgrades by the end of summer and will continue to look for funds to make other repairs to the facility.
