If you are preparing for college but need a little more guidance, one local institution is willing to help.
Zane State College will host College Goal Sunday, where students will receive help with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Director of Student Financial Aid Amanda Reisinger says only a few things are required from students who want to participate.
"Social Security number of course, which most people know theirs, but some high school students specifically are still learning that number, and also the tax information, income information specifically from 2011," said Reisinger.
Registration is available on Zane State’s website, and students, whether high school seniors or returning adults, are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend the event, or receive help with the application.
"It’s open to anybody, you don’t have to be coming to Zane State College to come, of course we would love for you to come to Zane State College, but no matter where you’re going, if you feel you need the assistance on the FAFSA, even if you have it all the way done, but just one question, and you’re just like ‘I don’t know what to put for this question,’ come in and we’ll help you with that," said Reisinger.
College Goal Sunday will be held Sunday, February 12th at 2pm at Zane State College’s campus center. To register, visit the Zane State College website, or go to www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org.
