The Zanesville Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a Papa John’s at gunpoint Thursday night.

According to Lt. Tony Coury, the robbery occurred at 1434 Maple Avenue shortly before 10 p.m.

Lt. Coury says a man walked into the store with a firearm and demanded cash. Once the clerk handed over the money the suspect fled on foot.

A Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was brought in and was able to track the suspect to Van Horn Avenue before the trail was lost.

Coury says the only description they have to go on at this time is a man, wearing all black with a black ski mask. He’s asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the surrounding neighborhoods around the time of the robbery to contact the Zanesville Police.

Friday Morning Detective Sergeant Ric Roush added a few more details relating to the suspect:  White male, 5’10", Black hoodie sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and black toboggan and mask.  Anyone with information is asked to call 740 455-0700.
