The local branch of a national organization is being recognized…
The Muskingum County Commissioners proclaimed this week as Ohio 4-h Week. Vicki Reed is involved in 4-H youth development, and said this week is a great way to promote the organization.
"4-H does so much. Where do I begin… Leadership skills and leadership development, developing responsibility, how to make decisions. You know, learning, mastering skills."
Reed said 4-H is quite popular, especially in our area, and it’s important to recognize the people involved.
"We have an active program in our county. We have about 1800 kids that are involved, and we have about 300 volunteers. So just in Muskingum County alone, we’re a very active and big program. So if you take that and duplicate that across 88 counties across the state, we have thousands of people involved in the 4-H program," said Reed.
The 4-H flag will fly in front of the Court House on Main Street.
