Division III Regional Semi-Final at OU Athens

Ironton 49 Coshocton 48

What started as a promising night quickly turned to heartbreak for the Coshocton Redskins on Wednesday night in the regional semi-finals at the Convocation Center.  After the Redskins took a 27-16 halftime lead, the Tigers clawed their way back in the second half, cutting the deficit to five heading into the fourth quarter.  In the final period, Ironton worked their way back and tied Coshocton and with the game tied at 48, the Tigers had the ball and could hold for the last shot.  With 4.1 seconds to go, Zac Carter drove to the lane and was fouled.  After hitting the first free throw to give them the lead, he missed the second, but Coshocton could not get a shot off before the buzzer.

Carter led all scorers with 21 points in the win for the Tigers.  Brandon Taylor had 17 points in the losing effort for the Redskins.  With the loss, Coshocton finishes the season 18-6.
