A fundraiser held Saturday evening is helping to raise money for one local organization.

Attendees came to the HoneyBaked Ham store on Maple Avenue to raise money and recognize local people with awards for their service to the organization.

Mike Alfman, owner of the Winerack and HoneyBaked Ham store, hosted the event, and said after one meeting, he knew he wanted to help the organization out.

"I was so moved by what the gentlemen involved in that meeting had to say about ForeverDads and what it does to bring families together that I just felt like we needed to step up and help make something happen," said Alfman.

The event featured hors d’oeuvres, a wine tasting, and music.

Alfman hopes that attendees take away the importance of sustaining and supporting this new charity.

"Hopefully they’ll learn a little bit more about the organization, which is relatively new to a lot of people in this area and by learning more about it they’ll be more willing to support it, and understand what it’s all about," added Alfman.

The money raised tonight will be used for general operating funds for the group.

ForeverDads’ mission is to help men develop good relationships with their children, family and community.
