The Muskingum County Board of Elections met on Wednesday to go over the results from the March primary election.
Director Chris Hamill said the votes tallied on election night aren’t official until the board holds a recount.
"We went up by 82 additional votes and it did not change any of the races," said Hamill.
Although all of the results will stay the same, Hamill said she’s surprised by the low voter turnout of about 23% in the primary election.
"It’s possible it’s because there wasn’t a race in the county, which can sometimes cause more voters to come out," said Hamill.
The board of elections is turning its focus to the general election in November. Hamill said the deadline for voter registration is October 9th.
