The Dawgs take a huge early-season league matchup on enemy turf with a seven run victory over the host Electrics. The first inning told the story, as Tri-Valley jumped on Philo ace Jimmy Moore to the tune of five runs, setting the table for the victory. Philo didn’t help matters; committing six errors throughout the course of the game.

The Blue Devils pick up their first win in the Jason Smith era against the defending Division IV State runners-up, but it was anything but easy. Zanesville also committing seven errors in the contest, but still managing a victory.

Tri-Valley 1 Philo 2

Two of the league’s best square off in a matchup that, thanks to Tri-Valley being back in Division II, fans in this era could see two more times this year. All of the runs in this game were scored before the third inning began, that’s when two of the best pitchers in the area, Hayley Flynn and Ali Smith took over. Flynn had 14 strikeouts, while Smith had six. Both pitchers were at their best when the opposition had runners on base. Many eyes will be on this regular season rematch April 18th at Tri-Valley.
