We’re nearing the end of March, but some are already thinking ahead to the next school year…

Zanesville City Schools is holding kindergarten registration this week for 2012-2013. Student Services Coordinator Kevin Appleman said from now through Thursday, parents can register their kids between the hours of 4 and 7:30 p.m.

"We encourage the parents to please come in and get registered now. That saves time instead of at the first of the year. If you have any questions, please stop down during those times, if not, call during the day," said Appleman.

Parents should bring their child’s birth certificate, social security card, and immunization records. Appleman said he will personally be in the office during the extended hours, for additional assistance.

"It’s pretty easy. We have some snacks here for the kids, they can watch some, you know, the TV is on in there. So just come on in, spend, you know, it probably takes about 20 minutes to fill everything out. But please stop by, it just makes it easier on us in the fall."

Registration takes place at the Central Office on 4th street across from Secrest Auditorium.
