Fairytales came to life Saturday at the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville…

The East Central Ohio Dance Theatre hosted its annual "Princess Party", where kids were able to meet some of their favorite story book characters. Organizer Jodi Bainter said the mall is the perfect setting for the event.

"We’ve opened it up this year so the princesses can walk the whole way through the mall. So we’ve got Rapunzel on one end and Cinderella on the other end and Ariel down in this corridor, so they’re all over the place," said Bainter.

Girls designed their own crowns and magic wands as they listened to stories from the princesses.

"You can’t walk by anybody without a smile, because there’s glitter, and there’s magic and these little girls just live for that ‘princess moment’ and it goes by so quickly. You have to capture it now."

All proceeds from the party benefit the Theatre’s production of the Nutcracker at Secrest Auditorium in November.
