It may still be five months away, but organizers are already gearing up for Zanesville’s annual "Y-Bridge Arts Festival."

The festival will take place the first week of August – but artists who wish to participate need to submit their applications by the end of this month.

"This is a juried art event, and what that means is if the artist has not participated in the event before, when they submit their name and information they also need to submit photographs of their work," said Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Service Director Dana Matz. "There will be judges that will pick the artists, as part of our Artist Recruitment Committee."

The festival includes both visual and performing arts – with nearly 175 taking part last year.

Matz said the event has become a signature event of the community.

"We have a rich artist history, so we wanted to show people Downtown Zanesville, the wonderful buildings, tell them about our history and then let them see all different types and forms of art."

Artists interested in participating can find the application at www.YBridgeArtsFestival.com. Applications are due March 31st.
