Muskingum County is exploring its options of operating the County Home privately…

Zandex Health Care submitted a proposal in August of last year to the County Commissioners. Vice President Stoey Stout said that it could be a great opportunity, and just wants to know where the commissioners are in their decision making process.

"They have a committee that they’re working with, that helps advise them on these issues, and you know, they’re trying to be responsible, and to move forward in a way that would be best for the residents and best for the tax payers of the county," said Stout.

The commissioners have been reviewing the proposal and are weighing all of the possibilities. Stout said nothing is set in stone just yet.

"The official word is ‘sooner, rather than later’. And so I’m very comfortable saying that, the commissioners said they would be making decisions sooner rather than later. I’m not sure what that means, but it’s encouraging that the process is moving forward."

The commissioners are continuing to review the proposal before any decisions are made.
