Car Lands on Top Behind Zanesville Home

A rollover accident sent one woman to the hospital late Thursday afternoon.

Sergeant Chris Phipps of the Zanesville Police Department said police were called to the intersection of Brighton Boulevard and Crown Street, where a woman driving a Saturn car over-corrected, and struck a tree, causing the car to flip over and land behind a house.

Dozens of people gathered and watched as police investigated the unusual scene.

"It’s very unusual," said Phipps.  "The fact that she missed the house, all but just hitting the gutter was pretty amazing, she didn’t hit the vehicle that was in the lot either… Quite lucky, really."

The woman was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Phipps said she will be cited in the accident.

"I Imagine she’ll probably be cited with Failure to Control. Since there were no other vehicles involved in the accident, she will be the only one," added Phipps.

Brighton Boulevard was blocked off briefly while crews investigated the scene.
