Two local artists have their works on display and you’ll have the chance to see them in person..
The First Friday Art Walk takes place Friday, April 6th. Artist Juanita Williams focuses on water colors and acrylic paintings. She said when she sits down to paint, she never knows what she’s going to get.
"Some of my paintings, I have no idea where they came from. They just, I just start playing with the paint on the canvas, and all of a sudden I have a painting and I don’t know where it came from," said Williams.
Richard McBride makes his creations from different types of exotic wood. He said his artistic ability came to him unexpectedly.
"I retired 11 years ago, and I just wanted something to do where I didn’t have to do a lot of lifting and everything, and this is what I ended up doing and I love to do it," said McBride.
Both Williams and McBride have their works displayed in Gallery G on 4th St downtown. Neither of the artists said they plan to retire from creating art any time soon.
"I can’t seem to stop!," said Williams. "I’m going to do it until I’m too old to do it anymore," said McBride.
The walk takes place between 5 and 8 p.m.
