Citing a desire to continue his education elsewhere, University at Albany and former Zanesville High School basketball player Logan Aronhalt has decided to leave the Great Danes program, with one year of eligibility remaining. Aronhalt was a two-year captain for the Danes the past two seasons, one of the few sophomores ever to captain an Albany basketball team.

As a junior for the Danes, Aronhalt was the teams’ second leading scorer with 13.8 points per game; unable to finish the season with an injured knee. Another injury setback did not prevent Aronhalt from passing the 1,000 career point mark for Albany this season.

Aronhalt has already completed his undergraduate degree at UA, and will now look to continue his education with a Master’s degree in Exercise Science, a program not offered at Albany. NCAA rules stipulate that a player with eligibility remaining can transfer to a University that offers a graduate program not offered by their current University without having to sit out a season. Logan has yet to make any decision pertaining to his educational or athletic future.
