There have been several athletes to pass through the halls of Tri-Valley that have gone on to earn scholarships at the next level. On Thursday, April 12th, two more joining the list of Scotties to continue their athletic careers at the next level. Peyton Miller (volleyball) and Kalyn Hanby (softball) both signing with West Liberty University, just outside of Wheeling, West Virginia.
Miller, a three year letterwinner was the 2011 team MVP, while also achieving a unanimous first team all-MVL selection, as well as being named the league MVP. The accolades kept coming at the district level, where Miller was named to First team All-District 12, and the District 12 player of the year in divisions I and II. Miller plans on studying Graphic Design as a Hilltopper.
Hanby has been just as prolific as Miller on the softball diamond. A soon to be three year letterwinner, Kayln has been named to all-MVL teams twice, as well as all-Eastern District teams twice, batting .416 as a sophomore and .435 as a junior. Hanby has combined for 50 runs batted in and three home runs in her sophomore and junior season. Her most impressive stat however may be her grade point average, which currently sits at 3.75. Hanby plans on studying Physical Therapy at West Liberty.
