Wolf-Hybrid Dog Owner Pleads Not Guilty

by George Hiotis on April 17, 2012

A Guernsey County woman is facing multiple charges in connection with cruelty to animals involving wolf-hybrid dogs.  Cambridge City Law Director Bill Ferguson says the Attorney for Johanna Trejo of Lore City has entered a written plea of not guilty to four counts of cruelty to animals and 3 counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals. Last week authorities, along with the Guernsey County Dog Warden, went to Trejo’s wolf sanctuary on County Home Road and euthanized 17 of the 27 malnourished wolf-hybrid-dogs. Ferguson says Trejo is scheduled for a probable cause hearing in Municipal Court on Thursday.
