The West Pike location of Ohio Pottery is likely a total loss after a fire Sunday night.

The Falls Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call around 9 p.m.  The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and units from nearby fire stations also assisted.

Thick black smoke could be seen from Interstate 70.  Firefighters battled the blaze from the outside as a safety precaution.

The Ohio Department of Transportation brought signs to shut down the road.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We’ll continue to bring you more information as it becomes available.
