People gathered in Zanesville Saturday to see classic and rare automobiles…

The Zanesville-Host Lions Club held it’s 9th annual Car Show at Coburn United Methodist Church Saturday afternoon. Lions Club member Mike Grubb said that even in the hot weather, they had a good turnout.

"Usually we get about 50 to 60 cars. And it’s not just the cars, the entry fee… But it’s all the extra things, the donations that we get. A lot of people donate money," said Grubb.

The vehicles were judged and selected for People’s Choice, Lions’ Choice and Runner-Up trophies. Grubb said a lot of local organizations contributed to the event.

"I had very few people turn me down. And, you know, I think it’s just going in there with a caring attitude and explaining, you know, that ‘hey, this is for the people’… They’re here because they love cars, they… I feel like they like to help the community."

Proceeds from the Car Show benefit the Zanesville-Host Lions Club and support its activities throughout the year.
