Local celebrities are ready to take a pie to the face to help out area food pantries.
It’s all a part of raising funds for Operation Feed. June Smith is with children’s services and organized the event.
"We had done it at our agency on a smaller scale a few years ago and it worked out very well so we decided if we got celebrities we could sell more tickets and it seems to be going pretty well so far," said Smith.
Sheriff Matt Lutz is one of those celebrities.
"It’s been a great program for me to be involved with this year for the first time," said Sheriff Lutz
According to Smith tickets have been selling very well, raising a lot of money for Operation Feed. She hopes to see a good turn out next Wednesday.
Muskingum County has fifteen food pantries and two hot meal services.
Sheriff Lutz is very appreciative of the help that has been provided by the community.
"I just want to thank the public for what they do and what they’ve done for Operation Feed, thank all the volunteers. As a Chairman i just kind of sit back and listen to what they’re doing."
The last day to buy tickets is Friday, May 18th.
The pie throwing will begin at noon on Wednesday, May 23rd at the Court House. There will also be vendors with food and other items.
