Thursday on the campus of Ohio University Zanesville the March of Dimes held its March for Babies fundraiser.
According to the March of Dimes, the March for Babies has raised more than $115 million since it was started in 1970.
More than 55 teams participated in the Muskingum County march. The March of Dimes says half a million babies are born premature each year, with 19,000 in Ohio. The money raised goes toward lifesaving research, community services, education and advocacy to help give every baby a healthy start.
