Parks Retires From Coaching

The Whit Parks era at Maysville came to an end earlier this afternoon. Parks officially handed in his resignation and announced that he was retiring from eductaion after 39 years in the field. In a statement released through the Maysville Athletic Department, Parks said "The Maysville School System has been a wonderful place to workd the past four years. Our administration, my staff, and our players have made it a very rewarding experience. I hope in some way we have made a difference."

Parks didn’t just coach the Panthers in his 34 years of coaching, but he also lead the Zanesville Blue Devils and the Rosecrans Bishops as part of three stops here in Muskingum County. He complied a record of 194-142-3 during his time on the sidelines including a 16-24 record with the Panthers.

After going 0-10 in his first season, Parks lead the Blue and Gold to a 6-4 season enroute to finishing his time at Maysville with back to back 5-5 seasons. During his time as a head coach Parks only had six losing seasons and went the playoffs three times. In his statement Parks spoke about the teaching and coaching profession together when he said "It has been an honor to be a part of this great profession. It has been my life and I will surely miss it."
