Road conditions cause a crash that sent two people to the hospital and shut down part of a Zanesville roadway Tuesday night.
Around 8:15 p.m., the Zanesville Police Department received a call that a northbound Buick and a southbound Blazer collided at the railroad underpass on the Maysville Pike.
According to Patrolman Jeremy Barnhart, there was an oily substance on the road that caused the crash.
The driver of the Buick and a passenger in the Blazer were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
The conditions also caused a motorcyclist to lose control. He received minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
Authorities shut down the Maysville Pike for more than an hour until the street department could come to the scene and put down sand to clean the road.
