When your letter carrier brings your mail this Saturday, make sure you leave some food for him or her…

This weekend marks the 20th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive. Letter carriers in the area are teaming up with Operation Feed to collect food donations left by mailboxes along their normal routes.

"This is the biggest for our Operation Feed campaign that’s running through the end of May. This is the biggest food drive of the year for us. So we’re very dependent on this drive and we want to put a big thank you out to our letter carriers. It’s a hard day for them," said Keely Warden with Christ’s Table.

Last year, around 17,000 pounds of food was collected to feed families in Muskingum County. All you need to do is leave the items by your mailbox before your mail is delivered.

"Pastas are good, macaroni and cheese is… Sauces, like spaghetti sauces, any type of pastas, peanut butter, fruit and vegetables are encouraged."

Warden said this year’s goal is to collect 20,000 pounds of donated food.
