Hundreds of motorcyclists gathered at the Zanesville VFW Wednesday for a unique celebration.

The Vietnam Memorial Wall made its stop in Zanesville, before being escorted by the State Highway Patrol and motorcyclists to the VFW in McConnelsville. John Christy from the Malta VFW says every person in attendance was proud to show their support.

"I did three tours in Vietnam." explained Christy "All of these people, most of them are veterans, and they’re all here to honor the men that gave all."

Christy says it took several e-mails, letters, and phone calls to get The Vietnam Memorial Wall to Southeastern Ohio, but in his eyes, the work was well worth the reward.

"I’m sentimental because I’ve got a lot of friends on that wall, and every one of them is a hero. A lot of us gave some, but they gave all, so, I have enough pride just seeing all these people here." said Christy.

This will be the first time the wall has been in Morgan County. Christy encourages all members of the public to come and see the wall, and says it is an unforgettable experience. The display will be in McConnelsville through May 28th.
