With the end of school year fast approaching, the Muskingum Family YMCA is gearing up for summer activities.
The pool on Adams Lane opens to the public Saturday, June 2nd.
Executive Director, Craig Miracle said maintenance crews have been working since March painting, and purchasing chemicals.
In addition to maintenance, Miracle said The Y will be working to provide more swimming lessons than in years past.
"One of the things we’re featuring at the pool this year, is that we’re featuring more swimming lessons. We feel that there’s a great need, for swim lessons in the community and we want to be a provider of that," said Miracle.
The Y is also providing Summer Day Camp for kindergarten aged kids through 5th grade, and Adventure Camp for 6th – 8th grade kids.
Miracle said interested parents can keep their kids in the program for up to 12 weeks starting next Tuesday.
"We’ve got kids that will be out of school this week, that will be coming next week, and then we gear up for 12 weeks, and the great thing about camp is that you can pick and choose days, weeks– we’re flexible with that," added Miracle.
Adventure campers will have an opportunity to do community service.
Those interested in signing up for swimming lessons or summer day camp should contact the Muskingum Family YMCA.
