A Passport to Excitement for Area Kids

Area children looking for adventure have a fun way to explore the county during their summer break.

Every year, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center and Visitor’s Bureau makes these passports available for kids.

The passport is filled with information about local tourist attractions and activity centers.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kelly Ashby said it’s a fun way for kids and adults to get out of the house and explore the area.

"It’s inevitable that the children will say that, "there’s nothing to do" or "we’re bored" or anyone of those famous phrases. So we certainly encourage parents and those who are watching children to stop here at the Welcome Center and pick up the passport," said Ashby.

Ashby said kids can even win prizes ranging from gift certificates to art kits and books.

All you have to do is make sure to get your passport stamped and return it to the Welcome Center.

"When you go to that place, they will stamp it, just like you get a passport stamped, and so there’s lots to see and do and and it’s a fun way to travel throughout Muskingum County," added Ashby.

Passports can also be picked up at the John McIntire Library and other participating locations.
