The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office says they found a body Wednesday evening just before 7 o’clock and it may be that of a victim in a recent shooting that also injured a toddler. Sheriff Tom Jenkins says the body is believed to be that of 36-year-old John Davis III who has been missing since June 12th. Deputies say Davis and 39-year-old Timmy Steven got into an argument that resulted in Davis being shot three times in the head in front of 430 North Riverview Road in Windsor township south of Malta. Then witnesses says both men left the scene in a white rented Kia. The toddler also was struck in the legs during the shooting, was taken to the hospital, and is expected to recover. The sheriff did not reveal the exact location where the body was found. Deputies are still searching for Stevens in that shooting. He should be considered armed and dangerous. He was spotted in Zanesville last Thursday but authorities could not locate and apprehend him. Davis’ body was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 740 962-4044.
