A Zanesville woman is celebrating a major milestone.
Barbara Gibbs joined Century National Bank in 1967, and she has been working there for the past 45 years.
"It’s been a wonderful place to work, and I’ve been fortunate that we’ve had good people," said Gibbs. "A lot of the people from the first five years of my employment are still here. We’ve changed names a couple of times, but it has been the same people throughout those changes."
Gibbs has seen quite a shift in technology over the years, from pencil and paper to computer based banking. She started her career as a teller and worked her way up the ladder to become senior vice president. Bill Phillips hired Gibbs after she graduated from Zanesville High School.
"She likes people, she’s honest, she’s very attractive, and she’s just a super nice lady," said Phillips.
Gibbs said she has no plans to retire at this point in her life.
