The Muskingum County Library System has announced a new partnership with the West Muskingum Local School District.
The 10 month agreement will provide West Muskingum High School with shared services for its library.
Assistant Director of the Muskingum County Library System Blair Tom said the deal will allow both parties to share services and costs relating to staffing at the high school.
"We see this as an opportunity to extend and share services, maybe even grow services at reduced cost to taxpayers and so we’re very encouraged and excited to be a part of this innovative collaboration," said Tom.
While taxpayers and the school district will see the savings, Tom said the students will be the ones to benefit the most from this partnership.
"The library and the school district will see extended access to the public library resources, our electronic resources online resources and print which students can place on hold and will be delivered via courier to the school library," added Tom
The agreement will go into effect this August.
The agreement states that it can be cancelled by either side with at least 30 days notice.
