One local club is celebrating a new president Tuesday afternoon.

The Tuesday noon Rotary Club of Zanesville held it’s final meeting with John Hill as president. During his year Hill is most proud of his work with the community through fundraisers.

"A couple of the projects I’m really proud of is our Gun Fest project. It’s a fundraiser, we’re trying to establish it as one of our premiere fundraising events so we can do some of our community service projects," said Hill.

Four-year member John Parker is this year’s new president. Parker found out in October he would serve as Rotary president, he’s excited to start his new position as the club is closing in on it’s one hundredth anniversary.

"We just want to work to increase membership, we’re very fortunate to have a club like this. Rotary does a lot of work, a lot of good both locally and internationally," said Parker.

A President’S Dinner honoring President John Hill will take place August 11th at the Zanesville Country Club. Also announced at today’s meeting Co-Rotarian of the Year, Pam Jira and Teresa Kanavel and Co-Young Rotarian of the Year, Bryan Hartley and Jim Evans.
