An early Monday afternoon accident sent one man to the hospital.

The Highway Patrol, Frazeysburg, and Licking Township Fire Departments responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m. on State Route 146 west.

Trooper Todd Henry said Charles Whyde was east-bound on his motorcycle and went off the road when he swerved to miss a vehicle turning onto Creamery Road.

Trooper Henry offered some advice:

"Slow down a little bit.  Make sure you maintain the proper space between vehicles, so if they do come to a rapid stop, you can stop in time before you make contact with that vehicle," he said.

Whyde was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Trooper Henry said Whyde was cited with failure to maintain an assured clear distance.
