A Muskingum County church is offering assistance to those in need.
The Otsego United Methodist Church has been collecting cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items for those in the area who are unable to afford them.
Pantry manager Kara Kimes said local businesses have been donating items to the church and said it’s easy to get these items for your home.
"They just need to bring a photo I.D., a current piece of mail with their current address and for any child under the age of 18 in the household a copy of their social security card or birth certificate and they just come in and sign up, and we give them 12 items. No income requirements or anything like that," said Kimes.
Items available include paper towels, dish soap and laundry detergent as well as toilet paper, toothpaste and shaving cream.
Kimes said with the hard economic times, it’s nice to be able to give back to those who need the help.
"People need the help right now, and times are tough for everybody and its just nice to be able to give them things that aren’t covered on food stamps or by any government aide," added Kimes.
