Zane State College is offering students a way to get a jump on summer and fall classes.

The summer registration program was held in front of College Hall on the Zane State campus in Zanesville.

The event featured music, free pizza as well as counseling and advising for students interested in signing up for classes.

"We are registering for Summer and Fall. We wanted to do something fun and a little bit different to get people on campus and get registered, and we thought this would be a great day to take advantage of the wonderful weather and to get people out here to register for Summer and Fall," said Pace.

Marketing director Tamra Pace said bringing registration outdoors provides a relaxing atmosphere for students.

Pace said its easy for students coming home during the summer to take a course at Zane State and transfer the credit to a four-year university.

In addition, pace hopes to attract not only prospective students just out of high school, but older adults looking to further their education, or change careers.

"We really want to invite everyone to come out and explore. We have counselors on hand, they can talk to people not only about what classes and programs are available, but also we have a career counselor who can talk about what possible careers a program can lead to," added Pace.

The event will be held again Tuesday, June 5th at the campus in Cambridge.
