Zanesville Police reported Wednesday that a Zanesville shooting suspect is now in custody.

According to Detective Sergeant Ric Roush, the Columbus Police Department and its special response team arrested 28-year-old Rico Brown of Columbus, at a hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

"He was taken into custody at that time without incident, no one was injured during the apprehension. He is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail," said Roush.

Brown is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, in the weekend shooting of Justin Minor of Zanesville at his Maple Avenue apartment. Roush said Brown will face an extradition hearing in Franklin County before he is brought back to Muskingum County to face those charges.

"It was through some investigation that we were able to determine where exactly he was. And then we have to thank the Columbus Police Department for immediately assisting us, as far as taking him into custody."

Minor is stilled listed in stable condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.
