100 Degree Temperatures Make Pools A Hot Place To Be

Temperatures across the area topped 100 degrees Saturday and when that happens there’s no better place to be than the pool.

The Muskingum Family ‘Y’ had close to a record number of people Saturday thanks to the high temperatures. Going to the pool is a great way to beat the heat among friends.

"It’s like fun here and you get to cool off in the pool," said swimmer Koltin Olney.

Keeping up with the demand for food and water has been a challenge for the lifeguards, and they ran out of some items on this hot day. The guards also spend all day out in the sun so they needed to find ways to stay cool as well.

"Sitting in the guard room with a fan and drinking a lot of water," said lifeguard Malle Shillling.

Pools will stay busy the rest of the weekend as the heat wave is not expected to break until Monday.
