An afternoon visit turned into a trip to the hospital for one Zanesville man.

Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputy John Howe says that around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon 86-year-old James West accidentally drove into the home of his grandson, 29-year-old Christopher Paynter at 880 Grove Road. Deputy Howe says when West pulled into the driveway instead of slowing down he accelerated, crashing into the home. West was the only person in the vehicle, he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with unknown injuries. There was minor damage to both the home and vehicle. Falls Township Fire Department assisted on the scene, no citations were issued, but the accident remains under investigation.
