A joint investigation between Zanesville Police and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of three people.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said officers executed a warrant at 1265 Dillon Road and recovered more than 34 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $6,800 as well as $5,500 in cash.
Lutz said drugs continue to be a problem in the county.
"These things kind of get pushed around a little bit. We’ll have different groups that focus on the cocaine and crack cocaine, we’ll have different groups that focus on prescription pills, and you have methamphetamine and heroin out there," said Lutz.
Two hand guns and over $5,000 in stolen property were also recovered from the home.
Lutz said the joint drug unit with Zanesville Police is working out.
"Our joint drug unit with the city with Chief Lambes has been working excellent. I think we’ve shown a lot of positives since that happened and we’re going to continue to do that, and we do have a long list of people that we do know are indulging in illegal activity," added Lutz.
The names of those arrested have not been released, and will not until formal charges are filed.
