This year’s Lace Up for Kids will mark a major milestone.
They will surpass the 25,000 shoe mark for donations in the 24th year of the program.
"You get to see how needed this service is," said WHIZ Media Group President Hank Littick. "It’s just a wonderful feeling to know that you’ve fulfilled a real need for a family that might have 4 or 5 children that are worried about how in the world they going to afford all these shoes. We’re able to help out with that. "
Donations of tennis shoes for all school age children can be dropped off at all five Zanesville Wendy’s locations. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
"It makes me proud to be part of a community that’s so willing to give back to children in need and we feel blessed to be just a part of it," said Owner of Wendy’s Tim Thompson.
The goal this year is to collect one thousand pairs of shoes, it’s a goal they broke last year.
