College graduates looking for job experience and a chance to change lives can apply for open positions through a grant program.
The Community Foundation’s Scholarship Central is looking for four local college graduates to become Americorps College Guides for the next 11 months. These guides will work in area high schools and help students achieve their goals.
"They help students prepare for college in ways such as filling out financial aid forms, helping them research what careers they would like to explore, also different colleges, helping them prep for the ACT testing to helping them make sure they have the correct credits to graduate," said Scholarship Central’s Heather Sands.
Those hired will provide 1,7000 hours of service, receive a living allowance, health insurance and money to pay student loans or for future education.
"We like to make sure that we retain these graduates here in Zanesville and make sure that there are positions available here in Muskingum County," explained Sands. "They can continue and come home from college and work here in town."
An application for the job can be found online. If anyone has questions they should contact the Community Foundation at (740) 453-5192.
