Spectators and performers had the sun on their side for a concert at Zane’s Landing Park.
Hundreds gathered for the fifth concert of the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band’s summer concert series.
Recent concerts have been canceled due to inclement weather.
Conductor Jeffrey Roquemore said Sunday’s concert gives the band a chance to play songs from those rained out shows.
"There’s a couple of patriotic pieces. that a local high school director, Andy Reed, from West Muskingum is going to conduct that were planned for the last concert. A couple other numbers, but there’s a lot of new stuff too," said Roquemore.
The band’s final concert in two weeks will feature an internationally-renown guest conductor and rain site in the event of a summer shower.
Roquemore said it’s all apart of the annual Picnic in the Park, where concert-goers can register for food from Honeybaked Ham.
"We’re taking orders up through tonight for box lunches which are supplied by the Honeybaked Ham people, and those will be delivered here at about 6 o’clock, and people can enjoy a picnic lunch before the concert."
Those interested can sign up or register through the band’s website at http://www.zmcb.org.
