A Tribute to Fatherhood

ForeverDads held its first "Tribute to Fatherhood" Tuesday evening.

The event was held at the North Terrace Church of Christ and recognized Bishop Frank McDonald and Ray Thomas along with coaches Don Stahl, Ron Apperson, and Whit Parks for their leadership.

"Fathers are fathers for generations, perpetually making this community better, and strengthening the lives of our children. So we sought men who have made a difference not only in their families, but in this community," said Founder Emeritus, James McDonald.

Tuesday evening’s celebration featured appearances by Ohio State Football greats, Craig Krenzel and All-American, Matt Finkes.

Both men took turns playing football with fathers and their children and say the message of ForeverDads is one they support.

"Any time you can get back out in the community and support some people who are trying to do something positive and give back to the community, you always want to be able to try to go out there and support those guys," said Finkes.

"When I was asked, I just thought, what an incredible opportunity, what a wonderful mission, a great cause, I mean, I know how blessed I am to have the parents that I have, and the role that my father has played in my life and how important that is, not only in our children’s lives but in the community," said Krenzel.

Before the inaugural ceremony, guests were treated to a tailgate party with grilled food and music from OSU Marching Band alumni.
