As we approach the middle of August, summer vacation for kids in the area, is quickly coming to an end…

Classes resume for Zanesville City Schools’ students on Wednesday, August 22. Coordinator of Operations Kevin Appleman said Thursday that there are just a few changes to take note of for the 2012-2013 school year.

"Mr. Denton now is the principal at the middle school. Tony Sines now is the principal at Zane Grey elementary, and Kacey Cotrill is now the principal at John McIntire, and then Michelle Jordan is out at National Road, Mark Ulbrich is at the high school."

Another change taking place is the implementation of the Muskingum Valley New Tech Academy, that helps students to be more college and career-ready, by using the latest innovations in technology.

"Anytime you implement something new in the district, it makes things a little bit more exciting… Just ready to come back. And it’s also a little nerve-wracking. Not sure how things are going to go, but that’s the same thing… Any time you buy something new, you just have to wait and see."

Each school will host a back to school orientation night for parents and students. A list of dates and times for each school can be found at .
